Allies and Like-Minded Groups

The following list is an incomplete list of organizations that South Sound Buddhist Peace Fellowship works with or supports. Please note that we do not necessarily have a formal alliance with these groups or endorse all of their activities. The list is offered primarily as a resource for members. For prospective members, it offers a rough overview of our areas of interest and action.

Social Justice Organizations

  • Olympia Indivisible a local chapter of the Indivisible movement, representing Congressional District 10, inspired by "Indivisible: A Practical Guide for Resisting the Trump Agenda"

  • Indivisible Thurston County is uniting Thurston County to defeat the Trump agenda, inspired by "Indivisible: A Practical Guide for Resisting the Trump Agenda"

  • Oly Embrace: Stay informed and tuned into the Olympia Community, as part of the Woman's March Movement. This is a local group that will keep momentum! (Also on Facebook.)

  • Church World Service has worked for seven decades with one goal: building a world where there is enough for all. We affirm the power of individuals and communities to take ownership of their future. We meet them right where they are, helping them create solutions they can maintain and build on. That means a refugee family who is able to start a new life. Or someone rebuilding after disaster finds safety with dignity.

  • Olympia Fellowship of Reconciliation: Working for peace, social justice and principled nonviolence since 1976

  • United Church of Christ HIV & AIDS Network : Getting to ZERO... Zero new infections, Zero AIDS-related deaths, Zero discrimination

  • The Olympia Peace Choir : The Olympia Peace Choir is an inclusive, intergenerational community chorus dedicated to using the power of song to create peace, social justice, and promote environmental stewardship.

  • Interfaith Works : Social justice and peace through interfaith understanding and cooperation

  • Keep Washington Blue! : Our top priority is helping local candidates who champion progressive issues to Keep Washington Blue. Registered affiliate group of both "Indivisible" and the Women's March as a huddle.

  • Washington Physicians for Social Responsibility engages the community to create a healthy, peaceful and sustainable world. (Also on Facebook )

  • Olympia SURJ : Showing Up for Racial Justice

  • Black Alliance of Thurston County : We have come together to take action and to be a catalyst for positive change. We come together to understand and undo institutional and structural racism. We work with and bring together people of all ages to build power. We work for systemic change and call for legislative reform, including greater diversity in the legislature.
